Because of the occurrence of special cases of damage, the contracting authorities have been further sensitized to regular and thorough examination of engineering structures. Since often wide-spanning structures are concerned, quick testing procedures are demanded for the indication of irregularities. Even though our experience and the detection of potential places of damage are paramount, our use of the ultrasonic echo and drilling resistance methods are rendering a valuable service in terms of effective inspections and the detection of damaged areas, in particular interior rot of massive wooden beams.
